Harold Lloyd Brown, 89, of rural Akron, passed peacefully at 2:29 pm, Tuesday, September 19, 2023 at his residence.

Harold was born on May 22, 1934 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Stanley and Mary (Zornes) Brown. He married on Sept. 10, 1988 in Bunker Hill, Indiana to Brenda Lee McClish Marshall, she survives.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy for 20 years, retiring as an Engineman First Class. He was a member of the Rochester VFW Post 1343 and the Lakeville American Legion Post 363. Harold enjoyed pitching horseshoes, working on his farm, and being outside mowing and tinkering on many projects. He taught his wife many things and they worked as a team on their property.

He is survived by his wife of 35 years Brenda Brown of Akron; daughters Mary Brown of Chula Vista, CA, Priscilla and husband Branden Nelson of Rochester, Jennifer and husband Joe Hamilton of Culver, and a son Harold Brown Jr. of Spring Valley, CA; a step daughter Billie and husband Santiago Abalos of Mentone; a step son Joe Marshall of Great Falls, Montana; 22 grandchildren; and 5 great grandchildren.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Joseph Brown.

A private graveside service will take place in the Akron Cemetery, Akron, Indiana with military rites performed by the Fulton County Honor Guard.

The arrangements have been entrusted to Hartzler Funeral Home 305 West Rochester Street Akron, Indiana.
