Kenneth "Kenny" Mark Roe, 74, Macy

Kenneth “Kenny” Mark Roe 74, Macy, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness on Wednesday, November 8, 2023.

Kenny was born on September 21, 1949 in Rochester, Indiana, the son of Rolland Richard Roe Sr. and Donna Belle (Harvey) Roe Rogers.  Kenny shared his childhood with four brothers and a sister. On March 1, 1971 at the Grace United Methodist Church in Rochester, he married his high school sweetheart Judy Nicholson and she survives. A cherished memory Judy has was when Ken Boy took her to Hawaii.

Kenny had been Vice President of Operations for Topps Industries as well as serving as the Director of IT. Ken’s son, Nick, carried on his interest in computer engineering that developed into a career.  Ken proudest moment as a father was seeing Nick earn the achievement of youngest Eagle Scout.   His lifelong hobbies are fishing, hunting with is canine buddy Rider, woodworking, and most importantly spending every moment possible with his grandsons, Alex and Grant. Ken would look forward to a highly anticipated “Papa” date on Friday evenings at Dairy Queen for a strawberry shake and cheeseburger. Ken made each visit a special memory for the boys, whether it was camping in the back lot, riding the four wheeler, building a bonfire, gathering walnuts, gardening, raising chickens or wood working.   Next to any chance to spoil his grandsons, he never missed a chance to go fishing with his good buddies or take the boys trout fishing, always followed by his famous, delicious fish fry.   Ken enjoyed reaping the garden harvest and “teaching” his daughter-in-law, Trish, his favorite canning recipes and techniques.

Ken would often share memories he treasured. He and Judy enjoyed hosting summer picnics at the farm for the whole family. He spoke of times working on the farm with David and others.  He enjoyed Adam, Scott and Wes staying for the summers.

Family still with us include his wife, Judy Roe, Macy, Indiana, son, Nick (Trisha) Roe, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Grant Roe and Alex Roe, both of Rochester, Indiana, mother, Donna Belle Rogers, Winamac, Indiana, siblings, Rolland Richard “Dick” (Janice) Roe, Delphi, Indiana, Gary (Anna) Roe, Rochester, Indiana, Sharon (Dan) Rhoads, North Carolina, several nieces and nephews.
