Scott “Scotty” Lawrence Barber, 39, of North Manchester, and formerly of Akron, passed unexpectedly on Saturday, Nov. 18, 2023.

Scott was born on Aug. 30, 1984 in Warsaw, Indiana to Dail R. and Jan (Scott) Barber. He was a graduate of Tippecanoe Valley High School and furthered his education with two Associates Degrees from Ivy Tech. He had most recently worked for Explorer Van of Warsaw.

Scott enjoyed helping people and always had a smile on his face. He never knew a stranger. If he had a dollar in his pocket, he would give it to you. Scott had many interests. He enjoyed going to casinos and to the track. He was a collector, and found enjoyment in many things. He collected coins, 2 dollars bills, and crosses. Scott’s family was very important to him. He was a very proud uncle and loved supporting all of his nieces and nephews.

He is survived by his parents Dail and Jan Barber of North Manchester; siblings Randy and wife Tammy Barber of North Manchester, Leslie and husband Bruce Jackson of Syracuse and Amanda “Mandy” and husband Dylan Carlson of Akron; nieces and nephews Macy, Gavin, Hailey, Layne, Ben, Luke, Elizabeth, Brett, Tara, Brenden, and Grant; and several great nieces and nephews.

Scott was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts Buni Leininger and Susie Jackson, and great niece Lainey Reinhart.

A memorial service will take place at 2:00 pm, Saturday, Dec. 2, 2023 at the Beaver Dam Community Church 9798 West 1000 South Akron, Indiana with Pastor Butch Troke officiating.

Memorial visitation will be held from 12:00 noon till the time of the service at the church.

A private interment will take place in the Akron Cemetery, Akron, Indiana.

Donations can be made in his memory to the Beaver Dam Community Church/Wheels on Fire to assist the community members who are fighting cancer.
