Vada Maxine (Scott) Owens, 86, of Rochester, and formerly Argos, passed away November 22, 2023, at 6:10 a.m. at Hickory Creek, in Rochester.

On July 14, 1937, in Bourbon, Indiana Vada was born to John Ervin Scott and Minnie Mae (Elkins) Scott. She  had lived in the Argos community since 1955.

On December 30, 1955, in Plymouth, Indiana she married Lawrence Gray Owens and together they shared the next 59 years before his passing on December 6, 2009.

Vada worked at Kroger’s in Rochester, Indiana for many years as a Clerk, and in the Bakery. She was a dedicated farmer’s wife and mother.

Vada and her husband loved to square dance and did so with the Swinging Dudes from coast to coast. She was a graduate of Bourbon High School with the class of 1955.

Vada is survived by her Sons - L. Gray Owens Jr. and wife Sandy of Rochester, Indiana, and Bryan Owens and wife B. Louise of Argos, Indiana.

Daughter - Vonda Delf and husband Dale of Hamilton, Michigan.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Husband, Grand Daughter – Cassie Delf, and Great Granddaughter – Allison Owens, 7 Brothers and 3 Sisters   

Friends may visit with the family Thursday November 30, 2023, from 10 am – 12 pm at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, Argos.
Services will follow at 12 pm Thursday November 30, 2023, at the funeral home with Rev. Brian Sewell of the Whippoorwill Community Church, Rochester.

Burial will follow at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.

Memorial Contributions may be made to:  Fulton County 4-H Dairy project, 1009 W. 3rd St., Rochester.
