Donald L. Hale, 88, of Winamac

Donald L. Hale, 88, of Winamac, passed away on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Brickyard Terrace Care Center in LaPorte. 

He was born on April 19, 1935 in Magoffin County, KY to the late Robert B. and Betty Sue [Stephens] Hale.  He served in the US Army during the Korean War. 

On October 25, 1958, Don married Jacqueline Waterhouse in Bergenfield, NJ. 

Don was a proud member of the Winamac VFW Post #1728 and Winamac American Legion Post #71.  He served many years on the local honor guard.  Don was a member of the Church of the Heartland in Winamac.  He enjoyed golfing with friends, traveling with his family, and attending his grandkids sporting events.  Don also enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing on the Tippecanoe River and mowing his lawn.  He was a kind man who did not know a stranger.

Visitation will be from 3-6 p.m. EST Monday, December 11, 2023 at Church of the Heartland in Winamac. 

Funeral Service will be held at 6 p.m. EST Monday, December 11, 2023 at Church of the Heartland in Winamac, with Pastor Heath Hiatt officiating.

Cremation will take place at Frain Crematory in Winamac.

Private Burial will take place at Winamac Cemetery (McKinley Addition) in Winamac.  The American Legion and VFW will conduct military graveside services. 

Memorial contributions may be made to Church of the Heartland.
