Mary Anne (Murphy) Laverdiere, 76, of Argos

Mary Anne (Murphy) Laverdiere, 76, of Argos, passed away December 27, 2023, at 11:07 a.m. at Miller's Merry Manor, Culver, Indiana.

On September 23, 1947, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania she was born to William J. Murphy and Helen E. (Maushake) Murphy.

She’s lived in the Argos community since 2013 having lived in Richmond, Maine.

On August 13, 1983, at the Naval Submarine Base New London, Groton, Connecticut, she married Jean Emile Laverdiere and together they shared the next 40 years.

Mary Anne worked as a Civilian Supply Medical Clerk at Naval Submarine Base New London, Groton, Connecticut and Naval Air Station Brunswick, Maine. 

She attended St. Michael Catholic Church, Plymouth, Indiana.

Survivors and place of residence: Mary Anne is survived by her husband – Jean Laverdiere of Argos.

Daughters – Mary V. Plourde and husband Roland of Louisiana and Rebecca Davis and husband Michael of Argos

Son – William Thomas Laverdiere and wife, Denise, of Maine.

8 grandchildren – Ryan, Shane, Taylor, Nathaniel, Christopher, Logan, Allyson, and Lillian

6 great-grandchildren

Sisters – Eileen McGivern, Theresa Hamilton, Kathleen Robinson

Brothers – William Murphy, Lawrence Murphy, Kevin Murphy, Gerard Murphy 

She is preceded in death by her parents, sisters – Miriam Oakes and Helen Lucenko, and brother – Joseph Murphy

Friends may visit with the family on Wednesday January 3, 2024, from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at the Earl-Grossman Funeral Home, 208 N. Michigan St., Argos.

Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Burial will be held at Maple Grove Cemetery, Argos.
