Willa Jean Pitts, 68, of Warsaw, passed at 8:45 am, Tuesday, Jan. 2, 2024 at Stillwater Hospice Home of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Willa was born on Aug. 25, 1955 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky to the late Charles D. and Velma (Newsome) Amburgy. Willa was an inspector for Maple Leaf Farms for over 30 years, retiring in 2019.

She loved spending time with her grandkids, traveling, drinking coffee, and her puppy. She enjoyed sitting out on the back porch, having cookouts, and sleepovers with the grandchildren.

She is survived by her children Tammy Shepherd of Warsaw, Joseph Pitts of North Manchester, Celia and husband Chris Alexander of Warsaw, Patricia Pitts of Warsaw, and Melinda and husband Jerry Warner of Mentone; 14 Grandchildren; 10 Great Grandchildren; boyfriend Dan Hale of Warsaw; and brothers Phillip and wife Tina Amburgy of Rochester and Rick Amburgy of Ft. Wayne.

Willa was preceded in death by her parents, brothers John and Harlan Amburgy.

The funeral service will take place at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024 at King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana.

The interment will take place in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, Indiana.

Visitation hours will be held from 12 noon to 2 pm, Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024 at King Memorial Home, Mentone, Indiana.

Memorial contributions can be made in her memory to the animal shelter of the donor’s choosing.
