Eva Mae Haist, 96, of Rochester, and formerly of Mentone area, passed at 12:22 am, Tuesday, January 2, 2024 at Hickory Creek of Rochester, Indiana.
Eva Mae was born on July 27, 1927 in Hersey, Michigan to the late Roland A. And Eva Blanche (Ferro) Loker. She was a graduate of Hersey High School. She was married on Oct. 5 1946 in Hersey, Michigan to Paul R. Haist, who preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 2016.
Eva Mae was a homemaker. She was a longtime member of the Mentone United Methodist Church, where she was an active member of the Methodist Women group. Eva Mae was known by many as a wonderful cook and taught many people how to bake bread. In earlier years she enjoyed camping and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her granddaughter Meredith and husband Travis Adams of Mentone and her great grandsons Jackson and Logan. Eva Mae was preceded by her parents, daughter Jacalyn Haist, sons Herb Haist, Randy Haist and an infant son.
Following her wishes, no services will be held at this time.
The arrangements have been entrusted to King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana.
