Debra S. Meredith, 69, of Palestine

Roses are red, violets are blue, we can tell you this remembrance is absolutely true. Debra S. Meredith, 69, of Palestine, Indiana passed at 1:43 am, Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2024 at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Ft. Wayne, Indiana.

Debbie was born on April 22, 1954 in Warsaw, Indiana to the late Benjamin and Molly (Marshall) England. She graduated from Whitko High School in 1972. She then went to cosmetology school in Huntington. She married on Feb. 29, 1976 in Burket, Indiana to James A. Meredith, he survives.

Debbie was a homemaker. In addition, she enjoyed working on the farm, especially milking her prized guernsey cattle. Debbie was a very devoted and loving mother and wife. Her favorite pastimes were shopping, cutting hair, cooking, baking, cake decorating, and spending time with her grandchildren at all kinds of events. Debbie sincerely loved watching her Hallmark movies. Christmas was her favorite holiday, and she always made it magical and special for her family.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 48 years, Jim Meredith of Palestine; children Rebecca and husband Craig Hanes of Plymouth, Naomi and husband Kevin Trojan of Heltonville, James P. Meredith and fiancé Marty of Portage, and Jana and husband Thomas Butler of Shelbyville; 7 grandchildren Cora, Jeffery, Kendall, Alyssa, Wyatt, Archer, and Rhyah; sister Lois Ladson of Mentone; and brothers Rick and wife Linda England of Mentone, Benjamin England of Sidney and Turner “Chuck” and wife Julia England of Pierceton. Debbie is also survived by her sister-in-laws Christa England and Elaine England.

Debbie was preceded in death by her parents, grandchildren Olivia and Blaire, brother Roger, Ronnie, and Randy England, and brother-in-law Dale Ladson.

The funeral service will take place at 10:30 am, Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2024 at King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana with Larry Oaks officiating.

The interment will take place in the Palestine Cemetery, Palestine, Indiana.

Visitation hours will be held from 3 pm to 7 pm, Tuesday, Jan. 16, 2024 at King Memorial Home, Mentone, Indiana.

Memorial contributions can be made to the 4-Way Ambulance Service of Mentone or the Burket Fire Department.
