Monte L. Wilson, 79, of North Manchester and formerly of Akron, Indiana passed at 11:56 pm, Sunday, Feb. 25, 2024 at Peabody Retirement Community of North Manchester, Indiana.
Monte was born on May 20, 1944 in Granite City, Illinois to the late Rev. Jack and Mary (Wiltshire) Wilson. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran serving for 20 years. He married Mary Ann Ruff Wilhite and they had 20 years together. She preceded him in death on June 19, 2020. He was a member of the American Legion Post 286 of North Manchester. He loved music, fishing, and his dogs.
He is survived by his children Andy and wife Mary Ann Wilson of New Jersey, Erika Wilson of Mitchel, Ind., and Cody and wife Stacy Dobner of Orleans, Ind.; 8 Grandchildren; 4 Great Grandchildren; sister Yvonne and husband Harold Lent of Sidney; brother John Wilson of San Diego, California.
Monte was preceded in death by his parents, wife Mary Ann, son Vincent Edward Wilson, and 4 siblings.
Following his wishes, no services will be held at this time.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
