Mrs. Patricia J. Eriks, 81, of Rochester, was surrounded by her loving family when she  passed away at 05:19 AM, Thursday, January 30, 2020 at her home.

On September 7, 1938, Patricia Janet Wright was born in Hammond.    She was the treasured daughter of  Jesse and Marie  Potter  Wright.  Growing up as the youngest in a family of the five Wright children she shared her childhood with Jimmy, Chuck, Ret and Barbara.  She graduated from Thornton Fractional Township High School in 1956 in Calumet City, IL.

At the Lansing Bible Church in Lansing, IL. Patricia Wright married the love of her life  Mr. Robert Andre Eriks  on September 28, 1957. They shared 45 years of life’s adventures.  From their union came seven wonderful children.  Her legacy, a beautiful and amazing family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of three more generations.

The Eriks family moved to Akron in 1976.  After raising her family Pat returned to school at Indiana University at South Bend, achieving her life dream of becoming a registered nurse.   She devoted most of her life as a caregiver to her family, patients, as a hospice volunteer and visiting nursing home residents. Prior to this she was also a devoted farmer's wife assisting Bob in all aspects of their family farming operation.

Pat was a member of the Olive Branch Church, Roann.  After moving to Richland Township, she began attending The Cross.  Pat enjoyed spending time with her family and gardening her flowers, listening to Christian music along with showing everyone the awesomeness of our heavenly Father’s grace in all of our lives.

Left to cherish Pat's memory are five daughters, Jackie Powlen and husband Jay of Kewanna, Gwen Lee and life friend Gilbert  Lee of Rochester,  Deborah L. Kuchel and husband Brett of Huntsville, AL, Teri L. Utter and husband Rick of Rochester, Jennifer W. Kimble and husband Michael of Burket; two sons,  Robert A. Eriks, Larry A. Eriks and wife Kelly all of Rochester; 20 grandchildren, 38   great-grandchildren, five great -great-grandchildren; a sister Ret Auburn of FL and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Pat in death are her parents Jesse and Marie Wright, beloved husband Bob on January 22, 2003 and granddaughter, Gwyn Eriks in 1991, sister, Barbara O’Donnell, two Wright brothers, Jimmy and Chuck.

A celebration of the life of Mrs. Patricia "Pat" Eriks will be at 11:00 AM Tuesday, February 4, 2020, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18^th St., Rochester. Larry Dean Galbreath, 77, of Winamac, IN passed away at 6:37 AM Wednesday, January 29, 2020 at Center for Hospice Care in South Bend, IN.  He was born on August 23, 1942 in Winamac to the late Virgil L. and Zelma P. Russell Galbreath.  Larry graduated from Winamac High School and studied electronic engineering at DeVry.  Larry worked many years as a milkman for Dean’s in Rochester, IN and as a delivery man for Kent Elevator in Winamac.  He was retired from Tippecanoe Beverage in Winamac where he was a delivery man for over 40 years. 

Larry was a longtime member of the Winamac Conservation Club.  He was a firearms instructor for Pulaski County 4H Shooting Sports Club and for Boy Scouts of America at Camp Buffalo.   Larry also was an active volunteer with the Eric Corey Foundation Turkey Tracks Hunt .  He was a former member of the Winamac Eagles.  Larry was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing softball.   He also enjoyed playing cards with the crew at McDonalds.  Larry dedicated much of his retirement time to genealogy at the Pulaski County Public Library. 

Larry was a friend to many and did not know a stranger.  Most of all, he was a loving dad, grandpa and great grandpa.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Jane Louise Burkett, 90, of  Rochester passed away12:10 AM, Thursday, January 30, 2020 at Life Care Center of Rochester.

In Fort Dodge, Iowa on January 17, 1930, Jane was born to John and Alma Peters  Crosby.

Jane was a member of Faith Outreach Center of Rochester. She read her Bible daily. Playing board games with her grandkids was always enjoyed. Grandma was very good at Yahtzee and Chinese Checkers.  Jane could often be found working word search puzzles.

Jane is lovingly remembered by two daughters, Mary Lou Swanson, Tina VanSpeybroek  both of Rochester; two sons David John Burkett and wife Ann of Plainfield, Paul Burkett and wife Jaime of Warsaw;  18 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren.

Preceding Jane in death are her parents, her twin Jack Crosby in infancy, two sisters, Lucille Karney, Grace Locy, four Crosby brothers, Richard, Robert "Bob", Howard and William "Bill".

Duane “Hack” Hackworth, 65, of Akron, passed away at 3:10 AM, Wednesday, January 29th, 2020 at his home.

On March 30, 1954, Duane was born in Kosciusko County.  He was a treasured son of  Oliver and Ora Lee Marsillett Hackworth. Growing up he shared his childhood with two sisters and a brother. Hack was a proud member of  the Akron High School class of 1972.

In the Akron United Methodist Church, Duane married his high school sweetheart  and best friend, Miss Janet L. Sheetz, on August 25,  1973. They have shared 46 years of life’s adventures.  From their union came a handsome son Marcus Duane.  Sadly at age 21, Marcus  passed away from injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident.

An iconic public servant,  # 9, Hack served the Henry Township  Fire Department as it's Chief for many years.  He currently was leading the group as Assistant Chief. Always there for his community in tough and challenging times whether it was a fire or rescue from a motor vehicle accident or farming  Hack was a quiet laid back leader who conveyed a calm demeanor.  He is the longest continuous servant in the group's history.

Reliable, consistent and dependable are some of the attributes, Mr. Hackworth possessed, with a sweet temperament as he climbed on board bus # 38 each morning to chauffeur his kids to  the Tippecanoe Valley Schools.  With a tender heart he was there for all of them, exhibiting a keen interest on hearing  about their  day as they shared their successes and  accomplishments.

Driving the same route for nearly four decades, Duane drove 6 families for two generations.  Maintaining excellent discipline and safety, if the bus became a little too noisy,  like sometimes happens, a shrill whistle would silence his riders, his method of reminding them it was time to quiet down.  He and Janet always saw to it that everyone that rode his bus had a treat bag before Christmas and  took them for treats to celebrate the end of each school year. Additionally, Duane owned a Mobil Oil distributorship from 1977 - 2000, delivering petroleum products to residents and businesses.

A man of strong faith, Duane was a member of the Olive Branch Church.  He led a small group Bible studies. Over the years he and Janet a dynamic team, conveyed their love, understanding and compassion by leading  many grief support groups for parents who  lost children.

In the early years, Duane, Marcus and Janet would head to Florida to enjoy the surf, sand and sun on spring break.  They loved the excitement and speed of snowmobiling.  Hack also shared his love for Harley's with Marcus, enjoying many rides together.  During the holidays they established a family tradition of seeking out the perfect Christmas tree,  cutting it down and decorating it to perfection.  Fishing was another sport they all enjoyed. 

Janet and Hack enjoyed fun and adventures making memories with their extended family the Mills Crew and Bowers.  It was a new tradition, Janet and Hack would prepare breakfast on Christmas morning with Hack overseeing the preparations  and cooking the Belgian Waffles, while Janet handled the trimmings.  The entire day was enjoyed watching sporting events, story telling  and playing games.  The Hackworths were always seated in the stands to cheer the kids on, attending dance recitals and concerts.   They all attended many Purdue University Women's basketball games. 

Thanksgiving 2019, the Hackworths traveled to Florida to watch Duane's niece play in the Gulf Coast Showcase at Estero, FL. featuring  the Purdue women.  Many memories were made as his sisters Becky and Barbara, were also there making it a great family event, while cheering wildly for the lady Boilermakers.   

The Hackworths were  members of the Blacktop Cruisers Car Club.  The summertime brought on an opportunity to enjoy many rides on his shiny fire engine red  Harley-Davidson Firefighter Special Edition.  Hack drove while Janet hung on tightly, both catching the warm breeze and freedom only a Harley ride can provide.

As a grill-master, Hack was known for his sizzling juicy hamburgers.  He used his mother-in-law's coleslaw recipe to duplicate the tasty salad to perfection.  Hack loved his role  Santa Claus entertaining family and friends,  making all of the kid's day during the holiday season.  For fun he loved walking the dogs, cruising around on the Ranger, watching NASCAR and baseball.  

Many will remember seeing Janet and Hack seated at Jarrety's tall table enjoying coffee each morning and sometimes at lunch.  They always sat with a variety of friends who engaged in solving the world's problems while catching up on the latest local news.  

Left to cherish  Hack's memory are his wife Janet, two sisters, Barbara Whitaker and husband James,  Becky Whitaker and husband Rick all of Warsaw; two canine companions, Zoie the Golden Retriever and Lucy the Golden Doodle;  special extended family, Mike and Ruby Bowers, Shannon and Chrissy Mills, Ryan Bowers and the Mills kids,  Kennedy, Payton and Sydney,  special cousin Larry Sheetz and Susan, the students who rode bus # 38, his Olive Branch Church  family, his fellow fire family and the many families he befriended during a rescue, a fire or even recipients of his many a simple random act of kindness.

Preceding Duane in death are his parents Oliver and Ora Hackworth, beloved son Marcus on July 17, 1997, brother Douglas Hackworth and his father and mother-in-law, Dale and Edith Sheetz.

A celebration of the life of Duane Hackworth will be at 11:00 AM on Saturday, February 1, 2020, in the Olive Branch Church, 4581 E. 1200 N, Roann, IN 46974.  Pastor Jeff Sumner will officiate. Alice G. Badger Lucas, 96, of Wilmington, NC passed away at 11:50 PM Monday, January 27, 2020 at Davis Community Nursing Home in Wilmington.  She was born on the Badger family farm in rural Star City, IN on March 16, 1923 to the late Ray A. and Ruth B. Woolington Badger.  Alice was a graduate of Star City High School.  She took her first job working for Harold Stafeldt in the Pulaski County Courthouse.  Alice was married to the late Harold “Doc” Swafford and they made their home in Winamac, IN for a short time before the couple left for a suburb of Detroit, MI where she worked at Chrysler for many years.  They retired to Colorado Springs, CO, however, Alice continued working at the Penrose Catholic Hospital.  Alice and Doc divorced and remained friends until the time of his death.  While living in Colorado Springs, Alice met and married the late Russell Lucas with whom she shared many great memories. 
Alice was raised in the Star City United Methodist Church and was a woman of strong faith.  She was a member of the Eastern Star (in Michigan) and enjoyed playing Pinochle with friends (in Colorado).  Alice enjoyed traveling and was especially proud that she had visited all 50 states in her lifetime!  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Beverly Jean (Johnson) Heyde 86, Rochester, Indiana, passed away quietly in her home at 7:10 A.M., Tuesday, January 28, 2020, after a short battle with cancer. 

Beverly was born in San Francisco, California on Feb. 16, 1933, to William and Thelma Johnson, along with her twin sister, Shirley (Johnson) Glasson, who preceded her in death. 

Beverly grew up in California and enjoyed playing sports and horseback riding. After high school, she worked as a secretary and eventually became and stewardess for American Airlines. She thoroughly enjoyed all the traveling and people she met, especially the time she was able to serve Grace Kelly on one of her flights. She always enjoyed being in airports and “people watching”. 

She married Jay A. Heyde in San Jose, California, on Sept. 22, 1956, and became the stay at home mother of four daughters, Melinda Johnson (Paul), Columbus, IN, Tracey Nally (Dan), Holland, MI, Kim Hoppes, (Bob), Indianapolis, IN, and Gwyn Green (Bryan), Brownsburg, IN. She had nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.  Bev took pride in her daughters and loved the strong women they became. Bev enjoyed playing golf, knitting, and listening to piano music. Her favorite pastime was laughing. All who came into contact with Bev enjoyed her company and her personality. She was loved by many and her smile and witty comments will be missed. 

Friends may visit from 4-8 P.M. Friday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Private funeral services will be observed. Burial will be in the Odd Fellows Cemetery, Rochester, Indiana. Jerry Allen Zolman, 71, of rural Mentone passed unexpectedly at 8:06 pm, Monday, Jan. 27, 2020 at his residence.

Jerry was born on Feb. 14, 1948 in Warsaw, Indiana to the late Carl D. and Emma W. (Kepler) Zolman. He married on March 11, 1967 in Warsaw, Indiana to Connie J. East, she survives.

He worked for UPS in earlier years and then for Sprint North Supply for over 20 years. He retired from Zimmer Orthopedic in 2013.

He was a 1966 graduate of Mentone High School. He served his country in the U.S. Navy. Jerry was a former member of the Mentone Lions Club and the former Mentone American Legion. He attended the Warsaw Community Church.

He enjoyed keeping book and stats for the girls and boys basketball programs at Tippecanoe Valley and had been involved for over 22 years. He was a regular at Teel’s Restaurant socializing with many good friends. He was always a big sports fan and loved fishing with his grandkids. He also enjoyed golfing, hunting, and traveling. Jerry lived life to the fullest.

Anthony Ray Coplen 33, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 5:46 P.M. Wednesday January 22, 2020 at his residence.

He was born on May 28, 1986 in Rochester, Indiana, the son of Perry Coplen and Jackie (Scott) Horn.

Anthony graduated from Rochester High School and from Ball State University with a degree in Science Technology. He was an accomplished C & C Operator having worked at various factories. He was an Eagle Scout, who enjoyed the outdoors, Frisbee golf, gardening and gaming.

Survivors include his mother, Jackie Horn, Rochester, Indiana, father, Perry (Jeannie) Coplen, Rochester, Indiana, sister, Amy Rose Coplen, Rochester, Indiana, brother, Kyle Alen (Lindsey) Coplen, Holland, Michigan, grandmother, Carolyn Ness, Rochester, Indiana, two nieces, one nephew, several aunts, uncles and cousins. William Howard “Bill” Case, 64, of New Buffalo, MI, passed away Friday, January 24, 2020 at 4:24 PM at the  home of his sister in Winamac. He was born on August 3, 1955in Michigan City, IN, to the lateWillard Duane and Carolyn B. SpechaCase.

Bill had worked as a carpenter most of his life. Bill enjoyed woodworking. He made lawn furniture,  picnic tables and picture frames. He also made shelves and other wooden items. Bill enjoyed morning coffee with his friends in New Buffalo and  going to flea markets. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his great niece.

Mr. Robert L. Forney  94 of Rochester passed away at 7:40 AM Saturday, January 25, 2020 at the Peabody Retirement Community, North Manchester.  

On October 10, 1925,  Robert Lee Forney was born in Rossville.  He was the treasured son of Roscoe and Ora Hood Forney.  Growing up as the middle child, Bob shared his childhood with  three brothers and three sisters.  He graduated from Frankfort High School with the class of 1943.  Immediately following his graduation he enlisted with the United States Army to serve our country during World War II.

During his service stint Bob was trained in communications and as a tank destroyer.  He was recognized as a  rifle sharpshooter, expert on the sub-machine gun. Decorations conveyed were American Theater Ribbon,  Good Conduct Medal and Victory medal World War II.  He achieved the rank of technician fifth grade aka technician corporal and was honorably discharged on April 17, 1946.  In April of 2016,  Bob was honored as a member of the Northeast Indiana Honors Flight accompanied by grandson Aaron to Washington, DC.

On July 30, 1945, Bob married the love of his life Miss Rosanna Weaver, at the Shenandoah Baptist Church in Columbia, SC.  From their union came four beautiful daughters and a handsome son.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of six grandsons and seven great-grandchildren.

With a keen interest in customer service, Bob was in retail grocery store management.  He also once managed a Sears store in Michigan. To relax he enjoyed golfing and traveling.  In more recent years he enjoyed tooling around the county taking a drive with his buddy Burns.  

With an amazing and uncanny ability to tell stories, Bob  told  many and recreated them adding a special touch only he could apply.  Occasionally he was accused of border line BS-ing.  He was very loyal to his friends and adored and admired his family, treasuring the many good times they shared.

Mary Ann Swayze, 75, of Winamac, IN passed away Friday, January 10, 2020 at 5:50 PM at Franciscan Health East Lafayettte, IN.  She was born on March 18, 1944 in Joliet, IL. to the late Harold and Clara Stankus Euber.   On April 10, 1962                       married Kenneth E. Mary was a homemaker and had worked at Winamac Steel and was the manager at the Indian Head Motel in Winamac.

Mary enjoyed Facebook and Farmville. She was a great cook and enjoyed preparing meals for her family. Mary also enjoyed gardening. She was a great wife, mother and grandmother. Mary enjoyed watching the Yankees and listening to Elvis.

Mr. Melvin E. Stamberger 93 of Rochester was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at 1:33 AM, January 12, 2020, at Miller's Merry Manor in Warsaw.

On February 13, 1926, Melvin Edwin Stamberger was born in Bureau  County, Illinois.  He was a treasured son of Herman Oscar and Hilda Margaret Lamps Stamberger.  Growing up he shared his childhood with two brothers.

At the Clarion Evangelical Lutheran Church at LaMoille,IL, Melvin married the love of his life Miss Wilma Jean Horn, on August 18, 1957.  They enjoyed 62 years of life's adventures.  From their union came three wonderful children Kathy, Chuck and Steven.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two more generations including nine grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.

In 1969, Melvin and Wilma moved their family from Mendota to Newcastle Township to set up their home and family farming operation.  They erected the windmill that graced the landscape of their  farm  in Illinois. Melvin was primarily  a grain farmer  annually planting wheat, corn and soybeans.  He also enjoyed overseeing the livestock operation consisting of cross-bred hogs,  black Angus and Hereford's.  He could be seen turning the soil, then planting annually each spring atop his classic J.I. Case shiny tractors. 

Melvin was an active member of the Calvary Lutheran Church in Plymouth.  He was an over 30 year member of the Hesston Steam Power Society in LaPorte County.  An avid train buff, Melvin built two locomotive steam powered engines on an 1.5 inch scale, powered by coal and water building the perfect steam engine.  As the patriarch of the Stamberger family, grandpa Melvin served as engineer and sometimes conductor.

Establishing a family tradition, Melvin and Wilma spent most summer weekends from Memorial Day to Labor Day  taking to the 7 inch train track and engineering their locomotive steam engine, allowing friends and new acquaintances the thrill of a historic ride.   Other family members joined in the fun serving as conductor or sold tickets at the depot.

The appointment of the annual "Corn Day," was led by Melvin.  Each spring he planted a special field of tender, juicy sweet corn, monitoring it until the kernels were blistered to perfection.  When he declared the corn was ready, his family was notified and the corn was harvested the evening before the "Big Day."  Everyone pitched in completing their assignment from shucking, overseeing the blanching in a huge black butcher kettle and cutting the corn from the ear.  Much love and many legendary stories were told during the days events. The Stamberger family collaborated to freeze over 400 pints for winter's use, enough for more than 10 families to enjoy!

Left to cherish Melvin's memory are his wife: Wilma at home,  a daughter Kathy Stuart and husband Gary, son Chuck Stamberger and wife Melva all of Rochester; daughter-in-law Jayne Stamberger of Mishawaka, 9 grandchildren Christine Smith and husband Adam, Erin Nelson and husband Brett, Daniel Snipes and wife Kelly, Cory Mauck and wife Melissa,  Melinda Owens and husband Jason, Michael Stamberger and wife Tana, Timothy Stamberger and wife Katelyn, Jordan Lloyd Stamberger, Cynthia Renee Stamberger; 13 great-grandchildren including the Smith's:  Austin, Kaitlyn and Allison, the Nelson's:  Brooke and Addison, the Mauck's:  Lane, Harley, Alexis and Conner, the Owens:  Kensie, Jacob and another blessing due in the spring and the  Stamberger's: Clair and Kennedy,  brother-in-law Arnold Horn and wife Kay and many nieces and nephews.

Preceding Melvin in death are his parents Herman and Hilda Stamberger, a son Steven Stamberger on August 2, 2012, three older brothers: infant Earl, Wayne and Robert.

A celebration of the life of Mr. Melvin Stamberger will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the Calvary Lutheran Church, 1314 North Michigan Street, Plymouth.  Pastor Eric Ahlemeyer will officiate.  Friends may visit with his family from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on, Wednesday January 15th in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester, and an hour prior to services at the church.  Graveside services will be at 2:00 at the Rochester IOOF Cemetery. William David “Bill” Hughes, 82, of Medaryville, IN went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 9, 2020.  He passed away surrounded by his family at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN after sustaining injuries in an automobile accident Monday.  Bill was born on September 30, 1937 in Salyersville, KY to the late Virgil and Stella Prater Hughes.  He was a lifelong resident of Medaryville. 

Bill owned and operated Hughes and Son wrecker service in Medaryville for many years.  He also worked at Plymouth Tube in Winamac, IN and retired as a supervisor from American Oak in North Judson, IN.  Bill was a hard worker and always supported his family.

Bill enjoyed fishing and scrapping.  He had a good sense of humor, “Did you see that little green man?”  Bill loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren all of whom he had given a special nickname.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Mrs. Terri Charais Bowers, 59, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away,  after a valiant three year battle with pancreatic and liver cancer, Terri is now pain free. Her love of family and friends kept her fighting, but the Lord has called her home. Terri was known as being exceptionally kind and empathetic, never met anyone she did not like, and no matter the situation she was always positive and was able to lift up those around her. Terri truly believed in the Golden Rule: that we should always treat others the way we wish to be treated, and she urged others to follow this rule to make the world a better place.

On December 24^th, 1960,  Terri was born, in Rochester. She was a treasured daughter of Theresa and Frank Vojtasek, Sr.  Growing up she shared her childhood with three brothers and a sister.  

At the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rochester, Terri married  the love of her life, Mr. Joe Bowers.  They enjoyed over 40 years of life's adventures.  From their union came four beautiful children.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of the three grandchildren.

Terri is survived by her best friend and loving husband Joe of 40 years, son Nicholas Bowers and fiancé Laura Robbins, Indianapolis; daughter Amy Bowers, Rochester; son Mitch Bowers and wife Brita, Rochester; son Marcus Bowers and wife Heather, Mendon, Michigan.  Her grandchildren include grandsons Titus and Abel Bowers, Rochester; granddaughter Myla Bowers, Mendon, Michigan; with two more grandsons due in March. Terri also leaves behind her brother Nick Vojtasek, Logansport; brother Mike and wife Niki Vojtasek, Rochester; sister Dianne Demos and husband Louis, Anderson; and brother Frank Vojtasek Jr. and wife Karen, Rochester. Her nieces and nephews include Courtney Vojtasek, Alexandria, VA; Blake Vojtasek and wife Sarah, Indianapolis; Aimee Prawat and husband Stuart, Indianapolis; Ted Demos and wife Felisa, McCordsville; Melinda Demos, Loveland, OH; Olivia Hilbert and husband Joe, Wallingford, CT; Ethan Vojtasek and girlfriend Alisha Morgan, Rochester; grandnieces Georgia Vojtasek, Indianapolis; Natalie, Lillian, Chloe Prawat, Indianapolis; grandnephews Eli Hilbert, Wallingford, CT;  Cole Demos, Loveland, Ohio;  Terri’s in-laws were her second family. They include: mother-in-law Lois Bowers, Rochester; brother-in-law John and wife JoAnn Bowers, Rochester; sister-in-law Ruth Ann Ravencroft, Rochester; sister-in-law Sue Bowers, Sterling Heights, MI; and brother-in-law Jay and wife Cindy Bowers, Denver, IN and numerous nieces and nephews.

Terri held a deep love and faith in the Lord. She was a lifelong member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Rochester and taught religious education classes for several years. In her younger years, Terri played first base on the First Federal Fillies softball team; and graduated from Rochester High School in 1979. She had worked at Dr. Timothy Ravencroft’s dental office after high school for a few years. Then, after marrying and having four children, Terri fulfilled her life ambition of being a teacher. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Indiana University Kokomo, and earned her master’s degree from Olivet Nazarene University. Terri was a former member of the Optimist Club as well. She was a dedicated teacher at Rochester Middle School for nearly twenty years and felt honored and privileged to have had the opportunity to teach and meet so many wonderful young people. Being a supportive mother was also a huge part of her life. She had travelled to hundreds of baseball and basketball games over the years, including AAU basketball and the younger boys playing college baseball, and last summer was able to enjoy watching her oldest grandson Titus play T-ball. To relax, Terri enjoyed reading and walking. She loved spending time with her family and taking family vacations at the many beaches in Florida. More recently, Terri and Joe were able to take more romantic vacations in Aruba and Hawaii. She always looked forward to taking their yearly Cub Game trips to Cincinnati and Wrigley Field.

Terri is preceded in death by her father Frank Vojtasek Sr., her mother Theresa Vojtasek, her father-in-law Jim Bowers, and brother-in-law Dr. Timothy Ravencroft  DDS.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be on Tuesday, January 14^th at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester with the Reverend Michael McKinney officiating. Friends may  visit with her family from 3:00 - 7:00  at Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester. Mr. Patrick "Pat"  Meade, 78,  of Rochester,  was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away at 2:00 AM, January 8, 2020 at Traditions of Solana in Indianapolis.  Arrangements are pending at the Good Family Funeral Home, Rochester.

Demarcus Lynzel Alexander 40, Marion, Indiana and formerly Culver, Indiana, passed away at 1:12 P.M. Tuesday December 31, 2019 at his residence in Marion.

He was born on February 18, 1979 in Michigan City, Indiana.  He had worked as an auto mechanic for many years. In his spare time, he enjoyed repairing and working on automobiles, spending time with his family and will be remembered for his friendly and out- going personality.

Survivors include his son, Kedrae (Karissa Forrest) Searles, Saint Paul, Minnesota, granddaughter, Kalana Rose Searles, St. Paul, Minnesota, siblings, Antonio Alexander and fiance’ Shalon Hite, Plymouth, Indiana, Latisha (Damon) Harris, South Bend, Indiana, Jeffery (Jessica) Alexander, Kokomo, Indiana, Sharita Alexander, Gary, Indiana, Lawrence Alexander Jr., Gary, Indiana. Terry L. Croussore 73, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 11:40 A.M. Sunday January 5, 2020 at Woodlawn Hospital, Rochester, Indiana.

He was born on September 21, 1946 in Rochester, Indiana, the son of Curtis Croussore Jr. and Metha (Gregory) Croussore.

Mr. Croussore spent most of his life working in small engine repair for mowers as well as bicycle repair.

Survivors include his daughter, Dawn Boyer, Bourbon, Indiana, granddaughter, Jerrika Boyer, Bourbon, Indiana, sisters, Phyllis J. Hays, Rochester, Indiana, Lydia Glassburn, Rochester, Indiana, brother, Robert (Debra) Croussore, Rochester, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Doris Gene Speicher, 95, of Francesville, IN passed peacefully at home on Friday, January 3, 2020 surrounded by family.  She was born on January 14, 1924 in Medaryville, IN to the late Lloyd and Alice Coppess Madaus.  Doris graduated from Medaryville High School in 1942. After graduating, she worked in the garment factory in Medaryville and later in the Kingsbury Ordinance Plant that made munitions during WWII.  On March 30, 1947, she married Charles W. “Charlie” Speicher in Medaryville.   He preceded her in death on September 27, 2005 after 58 years of marriage.   They enjoyed many years working together along with their son, Gene, on the Speicher Orchard.

Doris was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker.  She enjoyed gardening and was generous with the food that she preserved.  She was a talented seamstress, making clothing and gifts for the grandchildren.  Doris loved cooking, baking bread and making desserts.  Most of all she enjoyed preparing family meals. 

After retiring, Doris loved to go for a ride in the car, especially if shopping was involved.  She had extensive collections of glassware, dolls, and of course her favorite, Stonewheel Pottery.  She loved her daily dish of ice cream as well as watching and taking care of animals. At Christmas, Doris delighted in giving gifts to every member of the family.

Doris will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Darlene L. Granato, 72, of Winamac, IN passed away Friday, January 3, 2020 at her home surrounded by family.  She was born on April 5, 1947 in Washington County, PA to the late Dewey H. and Betty S. Martin Chalfant.   On December 16, 1964, Darlene married Ronald E. Granato in Crown Point, IN.  He passed away on May 31, 2019.

Darlene was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved spending time on the Tippecanoe River.  She enjoyed birdwatching, gardening, ceramics and shopping at Kohl’s.   She was an avid garage-saler and enjoyed finding a good bargain.  Darlene was fond of her dog, Sebastian. 

Darlene was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles where she had many cherished friendships.  Most of all she loved her family very much and especially enjoyed spending time with her three sons and playing cards with her granddaughter, Lexi.   Darlene will be deeply missed.

Kenneth Edward Wagenknecht 62, Rochester, Indiana, succumbed to cancer in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his family at 10:20 P.M. Tuesday December 31, 2019.
He was born on December 31, 1957 in South Bend, Indiana, the son of Lawrence C. and Mariam J. (Kelley) Wagenknecht.

Kenneth had worked as Auto Parts Manager at Shepherd’s Automotive and various other auto dealers. He loved cars, sports, and motorcycles exceptionally working on them. He spent his free time searching for old dirt bikes and motorcycles so he could restore them to new and enjoy them with his daughters and son –in-laws. He also enjoyed planning long rides and vacations with his family and stopping at new places to eat and experience. Kenny was always there to help relatives and friends with household projects, car troubles, or whatever else people needed.

Kenny is survived by his mother, Mariam Wagenknecht, Rochester, Indiana, daughters, Alysha (Mike) Marrs, Rochester, Indiana, Hannah (Joey) Bohm, South Bend, Indiana, along with their mother, Gretchen Wagenknecht, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Maxwell Marrs and Amelia Marrs, both of Rochester, Indiana and Reed Bohm, South Bend, Indiana. He was preceded in death by his father and brother, Michael Wagenknecht. Kenny will be remembered as a loving son, father, grandfather and friend to everyone.

Chad E. Granato, 52, of North Judson, IN passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at his home.  He was born on November 14, 1967 in Hammond, IN to Ronald E. and Darlene L. Chalfant Granato.  Chad graduated from Portage High School in 1986.  On May 20, 2016, he married Janet Wait in Knox, IN. She survives.

Chad had a lifelong struggle with several medical conditions but always maintained a very positive attitude.   He shared a passion for hunting and fishing with his brothers and routing for the Pittsburgh Steelers with his dad.  Chad enjoyed playing the drums and belonged to several bands over the years.  His latest musical passion was playing Christian praise and worship music at Global Harvest Church in Monterey, IN.

Most of all, Chad loved spending time with his family and friends.  He was a loving and devoted husband, dad, papa, son and brother.  He had a big heart, which showed in the way he raised his three step daughters from a previous marriage and loved them as his own.  Chad will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
