Colts acquire Carson Wentz from Eagles

It looks like the Indianapolis Colts have their next quarterback.

ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Thursday that the Philadelphia Eagles are trading Carson Wentz to Indianapolis, in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft and a conditional second-round pick in the 2022 draft.

Wentz is coming off his worst season of his career. In 2020, he played 12 games for the Eagles, throwing for only 2,600 yards, 16 touchdowns and 15 interceptions. However, in 2019, he had more than 4,000 passing yards, 27 touchdowns and only seven interceptions.

The move will reunite Wentz with current Colts head coach Frank Reich, who was Wentz's offensive coordinator in Philadelphia in 2017.

Wentz will replace Philip Rivers, who retired from the NFL in January.
