For Caston, that one was Saturday at Rochester.
The Comets used pressure defense to force Rochester turnovers and scrambled back from a 21-point deficit for the road win, 38-34.
Rochester committed 18 turnovers to Caston’s 10.
The Zebras held onto a double-digit halftime lead, 23-12. But Caston outscored Rochester 26-11 over the final two quarters.
Caston didn’t connect on a shot from the field until 1:28 remained in the first quarter. The Comets first lead came late in the fourth quarter, 30-29. Rochester would tie the game once but never regained the lead as the Comets stayed unbeaten on the young season.
Addison Zimpleman led all scorers with 15. Teammate Isabel Scales just missed a double-double with 13 points and nine rebounds.
Emma Howdeshell was the only Rochester player in double-figures with 10 points. Rily Holloway added nine. Ella McCarter scored eight.
Caston (2-0) will travel to Peru on Tuesday.
Rochester (0-2) plays at Northwestern on Wednesday.
