Anyone with information on a Starke County homicide investigation is asked to contact the sheriff's department.

911 dispatch received a call about 3:30 am Thursday from a homeowner who said a man knocked on his door and claimed to have been shot.  The man ran from the scene.  A second homeowner nearby called in with a similar report.  That caller was found by authorities holding towels on the man's neck.

The victim, identified as Nicholas Rudd of North judson, died at the scene.

Rudd's injuries are reported to not be from a shooting.  The case is being treated as a homicide.
