Yakym chosen by Republican caucus to fill Walorski vacancy

Rudy Yakym has been chosen to replace U.S. Rep. Jackie Walorski on the November ballot.

 

Endorsed  by Walorski’s late husband, Dean Swihart.

 

Yakym, 38, was chosen to both complete Walorski’s term that ends this year and to run for an election for a full two-year term.  Both elections will be on the November ballot.

 

Yakym will face Democrat Paul Steury and Libertarian William Henry in the November election.

 

Yakym is an executive with a distribution company called Kem Krest in Elkhart.  He worked as finance director for Walorski’s first winning congressional campaign in 2012.

 

Yakym was chosen from a dozen candidates.
