Three injured, two flown from Fulton County SR 14 / 650 West accident

Three people were injured and two flown from the scene of a multivehicle crash Monday.

 

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Office reports that emergency personnel were dispatched just after 2:00 pm to State Road 14 and 650 West. A Hyundai Tucson driven by Timothy Kauffman, 51, of Remington, was traveling west on SR 14 when it crossed the center line and struck the rear axle of an eastbound 2018 INDOT Freightliner.  The Freightliner was driven by Matthew Bremer, 41, of South Bend.

 

The Hyundai continued west and collided with an eastbound 2014 Ford Econline behind the INDOT vehicle.  Payton Ryan, 19, of Warsaw, was driving the Ford.  Ryan had a reported complaint of pain and was transported by ground ambulance for medical treatment.

 

Two passengers in the Hyundai were seriously injured and flown for medical treatment – Sara Shibler, 28, of Sturgis, Michigan, and Traci Johnson, 51, of Dothan, Alabama.

 

The Fulton County Sheriff’s Department says all of the people involved were wearing seat belts.

 

The Kewanna-Union Fire Department, Rochester Fire Department, Lutheran EMS, Lutheran Air and Samaritan Air assisted at the scene.

 

The crash remains under investigation.
