Betty Rose McCarty, 89, of Francesville, IN passed away on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at Parkview Haven Retirement Home in Francesville.  She was born on October 15, 1930 in Salyersville, KY to the late Adam and Ada [Arnett] Banks.  On March 19, 1946, Betty married Lacy McCarty in Salyersville.  He passed away on May 4, 2004.  She was a homemaker and worked as a cook in the cafeteria at West Central High School for over 15 years. 

Betty was a member of the Francesville First Christian Church.  She loved the Lord and enjoyed the fellowship of her church family.  Betty loved our country and was a very patriotic woman. 

Betty enjoyed gardening and canning as well as fixing large meals for her family.  She loved her family very much, especially attending her grandchildren’s activities and spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Betty will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Margaret L. White 83, Fort Wayne, Indiana and longtime Macy, Indiana resident, passed away at 4:14 P.M. Thursday August 27, 2020, at Sage Bluff Health and Rehab Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

She was born on March 21, 1937 in Monterey, Indiana, the daughter of Harry Edward and Mary Magdalene (Warmbrod) Rock. On January 26, 1973 at the Richland Center United Methodist Church, she married Virgil Howard White. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2011.

Margaret had been a press operator at General Tire, Wabash, Indiana, drove a school bus for North Miami Schools for many years, served as Allen Township Trustee and worked on the family farm. She had attended the First Baptist Church, Rochester and the Macy Christian Church as well as serving on the Macy Beautification Board. She enjoyed gospel music, Indiana University basketball, reading, especially the Bible and cooking.

Mrs. Virgie Gregory, 88, of Rochester passed away at 11:49 AM on Wednesday, August 26, 2020 at her residence. 

On October 15, 1931, Virgie was born in Martin, KY to Jeff B. and Gracie Flannery Patton.

Virgie and Harold Gregory were married on February 20, 1950 in Rochester. He passed away on August 31, 2006.

Left to cherish the memories of Virgie are daughter, Deborah Gregory; son Danny Gregory both of Rochester; two grandchildren, Dawn Gregory and Daniel Gregory; five great grandchildren, Cheyenne Cox, Bryan Hummel, Seth Royster, Haley Royster, Benjamin Gregory and several nieces and nephews.

Lynette E. Brazil, 77, of Rochester passed away at  9:35 AM on Tuesday, August 25, 2020 at Visiting Nurse Hospice of Fort Wayne.

On January 15, 1943, Lynette was born in Omaha, Nebraska to Walter R. and Junette G. Boyce Kohlun.

Lynette and Jack Brazil were married on May 20, 1962 in Peru and had many years of life’s adventures. He passed away on October 29, 2015.

Sonja Rose Zoppe Loudermilk,  70, of Rochester, passed away on Friday, August 21, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Fort Wayne.

On October 11, 1949,   Sonja was born in Rochester.  She was the treasured daughter of Giovanni “Johnny” Sr. and Sara A. Ellis Zoppe. Growing up she shared her childhood with two brothers, Johnny Jr. and Davide.  Sonja graduated from Rochester Community High School in 1967.  She later attended the American School of Chicago.   

As a member of an entertainment family, Sonja became a circus performer on the high wire.  She gracefully captivated the attention of her audience while performing high risk routines.  Sonja was gifted with her hands making all of her show costumes.   

In Rochester, Sonja and Franklin G. Loudermilk were married on November 25, 1978.  They shared 25 years of life’s adventures. From thier union came a handsome son Johnny.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of three grandchildren.

Left to cherish Sonja's memory are her son, John F. Loudermilk and wife Dawn Risten of Rochester;  3 grandchildren, Alexys Lanae Loudermilk, Justin Risten, Makayla Risten,  2 brothers, Johnny Zoppe Jr. of and Davide F. Shantelle Elizabeth Vierke, 26, of Winamac, IN passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2020 in Winamac.

She was born September 18, 1993 in Winamac.

Shantelle was employed at the Dairy Queen in Winamac.  She was a member of CR (Celebrate Recovery)   in Knox, IN.  She was baptized in the Baptist Church of Etsie  Allen.  

Shantelle enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her nieces and nephew.   She loved art and poetry.  Shantelle loved to sing and watch sunsets from the back of a Harley.  She was very giving and had a heart of gold.  Shantelle was eager to please everyone she touched.  She was beautiful and loved to flaunt it.

Mark was a talented artist and enjoyed making pencil drawings.  He enjoyed fixing up old bicycles.

Mrs. Doris Chudzynski 95, was surrounded by her loving family when she passed away on Sunday, August 23, 2020.

In LaPorte, Doris Anderson was born on October 28, 1924.  She was the youngest daughter of Andrew and Nellie Ketchum Anderson.  Growing up she shared her childhood with four sisters and two brothers.  Doris graduated from LaPorte High School with her class in 1942.  She continued her studies at the South Bend College of Commerce and graduated.

Later, Doris took employment with the Kingsbury Ordnance Plant that supplied hundreds of thousands of Allied troops with ammunition during World War II. A woman of great patriotism, she enlisted with the WACs (Women's Army Corps) in 1944 during the war, but was not deployed due to the sudden conclusion of World War II.  She also worked as secretary to the superintendent of the LaPorte Community Schools.

On June 29, 1946, Doris married the love of her life, Mr. Eugene J. Chudzynski at the Saint Peters Catholic Church in LaPorte.  They shared 56 years of life's adventures.  From their union came four wonderful children: Carol, Tom, David and Dan.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two more generations.

In the early years the Chudzynski's lived in LaPorte.  Doris was a mother who was very involved with her children's education serving as room mother at school and was president of the PTA for many years. She was also a hostess of Welcome Wagon and sang with the Sweet Adelines. 

In 1973 the Chudzynski's made Rochester their home.  Doris was a vibrant volunteer with a servant's heart ready to help anyone.  As a devoted member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church for 47 years, she assisted with making meals for church functions.   She led the way digging into many landscape projects for Habitat for Humanity.  For Fulton County Literacy she taught English as a second language, tutoring many eager learners.  Doris was a longtime member of the Rochester Garden Club.  She judged many residential landscapes and planted colorful gardens around the parks and city to brighten and enhance the aesthetics.

With great versatility, Doris worked many years at The Shopping Guide.  When Gene was elected as county surveyor, she served as office manager.

With diverse interests, Doris found many ways to relax.  She was a member of the Women’s league bowling, sang soprano for the Fulton County Chorus, enjoying “hamming it up!”   As a member of the Extension Homemakers she organized several annual crafting shows.

Gifted with her hands, Doris created baby quilts, coasters, diaper stackers, table runners and aprons.  Nothing pleased her more than conveying the perfect gift.  Each fall Doris painted  designs on gourds she grew in her gardens.  With a great appreciation for music she thoroughly enjoyed attending musicals.

Always comforting Doris was her feline companion Cuddles.  Scooter the black and white Lab custom blend oversaw the residence and alerted her to visitors. 

Paramount in Doris’ life was her family.  As the matriarch, "Grammy" was proud to oversee four generations.  There was nothing better than the holidays and special family celebrations making a lifetime of memories.  An amazing baker, Grammy is remembered for her delicious sausage biscuits and gravy and hot apple pie.

Left to cherish Doris' memory are: a daughter Carol S. Abernethy (Spike) of Granger, 3 sons Tom E. Chudzynski, Rochester, David A. Chudzynski (Deborah C.) South Bend, Dan R. Preceding Doris in death are her parents Andrew and Nellie Anderson,  beloved husband Gene (July 30, 2002), six siblings Chloe, Grace, Myrtle, Dona, Gerald and Louis.

The Chudzynski family wish to thank brother Tom for the extraordinary care he gave their Mother during this past year with love and tender care.  She could not have a stayed at her home without him.

Cobert Arthur “Coby” Graves, 61, of Winamac, IN passed away at 9:05 AM Sunday, August 23, 2020 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Logansport, IN.  He was born on September 17, 1958 in Knox, IN to John Earl and Elizabeth [Kuhn] Graves.  Coby attended St. Peter’s Catholic School through the 8^th grade and graduated from Winamac High School in 1976.  He spent most of his life farming with his father.

Coby was a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac.  He was also a member of the Winamac FOE #2580.  He enjoyed flying in the Tri Pacer with his father and especially enjoyed the trips they took to Niagara Falls and Alaska.   Coby was a hot rod and vintage car enthusiast.  In recent years, Coby enjoyed taking trips to Arizona and Florida to visit family. 

Coby loved to attend the Kuhn and Rausch family reunions.  He will be dearly missed.

James R. Loebig 79, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 7:10 A.M. Thursday August 20, 2020 at his residence.

He was born on March 17, 1941 in Algona, Iowa, the son of Edmund J. and Maurine K. (Hansen) Loebig. Jim graduated from Rochester High School in 1959 and from Lain Tech in Indianapolis, Indiana in 1963 with a degree in Architectural Drafting.

On March 3, 1962 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rochester, Indiana, he married Pamela J. Jones, his high school sweetheart, and she survives.

Jim had been General Manager and shareholder with Ad- Vance Magnetics in Rochester until his retirement in 2003.

He had been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the Moose Lodge and Elk’s Lodge. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, tending to his yard and flowers, and playing cards with family and friends

Lestel Lagene “Gene” Earhart, 83, of Winamac, IN passed away at 3:30 AM Friday, August 21, 2020 at Pulaski Health Care Center in Winamac.  He was born on November 24, 1936 in Winamac to the late Lestel Edgar and Matilda Rey [Hickman] Earhart.  On November 2, 1957, he married Denise Alva Dommer in Winamac.  She passed away on August 11, 2020. 

Gene was a hard worker.  He retired from NIPSCO (after 30 years) where he had worked as a laborer and later became a supervisor.  He had also worked at RCA and a local gas station.  In his youth, he worked as a farmhand and as a pin setter at a local bowling alley.  He also helped his dad deliver milk.  Gene was raised in the Bethel Bible Church. 

Gene was an avid bowler and participated in the local bowling league for many years.  He was a stamp collector.  He enjoyed yardwork and gardening.  He also enjoyed listening to country music, watching TV, Facebooking, and playing cards.   

Gene loved his family very much, especially spending time with his children and grandchildren. He will be dearly missed.

Linda Barnes, 61, of Crete, IL passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at her son’s home in Winamac, IN.  She fought a brave battle with cancer.  Linda was born on September 15, 1958 in Valparaiso, IN to the late Clayton and Rosella [Wallace] Martin.  In 1985, she married the late Charles Barnes who preceded her in death in 2016. 

Linda was employed as an assistant manager at FedEx in Merrillville, IN for over 15 years.  Before she became ill, Linda was surprised with a new Dodge Challenger that she absolutely adored.  Her son Mark drove her to treatments in the Challenger…a few of which may have included burnouts.

Linda was a loving and selfless woman.  Linda loved her family very much and especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  She was an awesome momand grandma who will be dearly missed.

Richard Arthur Books 56, Huntington, Indiana and formerly of Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 5:20 P.M. Thursday August 13, 2020 at Parkview Regional Medical Center, Fort Wayne, Indiana.

He was born on June 27, 1964 in Rochester, Indiana, the son of Ervin Eli and Phyllis June (Eberle) Books.

Mr. Books had worked in food service for many years as well as scrapping. He enjoyed fishing, being outdoors and had attended the Macy Christian Church, Macy, Indiana.

Survivors include his siblings, Harry S. (Veronica) Books, Akron, Indiana, Honey Marlene (Loren) Pruitt, Warsaw, Indiana, Aloralee (Don) Bromley, Huntington, Indiana, Roxanna M. (Paul) Carter, Peru, Indiana, Sandy K. Shockey, Peru, Indiana, Christina M. (Rodger) Drudge, Flora, Indiana, Juneattea (Rick) May, Rochester, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Robert S. Langley, 68, of Rochester, Indiana, passed away on Friday, August, 14^th surrounded by his family and loved ones. Robert “Boe” was born on January 24^th, 1952, in Kokomo, Indiana, the fourth of eight children of Paul and Marie (Cook) Langley. On February 28^th, 1970 he married Pamela S. (Van Meter) Langley and was happily married until her death on July 4^th, 2002.

Robert worked for Gibraltar Mausoleum Construction Co., McCleskey Construction, and also owned his own Sub-Contracting business. He enjoyed fishing and working on lawnmowers.

He is survived by daughter Tina Langley , Rochester, Indiana son, Tim Langley Logansport, Indiana, daughter and son-in-law Kari and Steve Wilkinson, Rochester, Indiana, as well as eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Leroy Langley, Dale Langley, Jim Langley, brother and sister-in-law, Mike and Diane Langley,  sister and brother-in-law Carol and Alan Engel.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother Gary Langley, and sister, Jeneen Walker.

Pamela Knox Daulton 58, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 5:25 P.M. Saturday August 15, 2020 at her residence.

She was born on July 31, 1962 in Alice, Texas, the daughter of Gloria (Alspach) Cook and John Cook. On August 9, 1986, she married the love of her life, David Daulton.

Pamela had been active in the Purdue Extension Homemakers “Busy Bells”, past member of the Moose Lodge, a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles Ladies Aux. #852, Past Lioness Club, Past Member of the Palomino Horse Breeders for America, past member of the Hoosier Palomino Association, having served as secretary/treasurer and four years as youth leader. She also had been a past member of the Palomino Horse Breeders World Show, where her and her horse “Tony” accomplished a world champion and reserve champion with the highest points in the nation. She is a member of Faith Outreach Center, where she had been nursery director for five years and was a member of the Fulton County Crafters. Her hobbies included, sewing, designing and crafts of all kinds, working in the yard,  gardening, participating in horse competitions and hanging with her furry friends, but most of all spending time with her family and friends, especially being able to spend time with her mother.

Survivors include her husband, Dave Daulton, Rochester, Indiana, children, Krystle Hobbs and husband James, Rochester, Indiana, Krystopher Daulton and companion Paige Eriks, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Hayle Marie, James Robert and Emalee Elaine Hobbs, sisters, Barbara Roach, Mesa, Arizona, Angel Skidmore and husband Travis, Rochester, Indiana, brother, Allen Cook, sister-in-law, Carey Weister and husband Bill, Wisconsin, brother-in-law, Tab Daulton and wife Cherryl, New York. William Henry "Bill" Long, 92, lifelong farmer from Monon, IN passed away at 2:11 PM Friday, August 14, 2020 at his home surrounded by his children.  Bill was born on September 3, 1927 in rural Francesville, IN to the late William and Mabel [Wren] Long.   Bill was a 1945 graduate of Francesville High School.  On June 11, 1949, he married Alma M. Gastineau in Francesville.  She passed away on January 20, 2011.

Bill was a member of St. James Salem United Church of Christ in Francesville.  He was a member of Royal Center Lodge #585 F&AM and the Scottish Rite.  Bill received his Award of Gold on November 12, 2013. 

Bill farmed in Pulaski County and White County his entire life.  He raised cattle and hogs.  Bill enjoyed helping his children and grandchildren raise their champion 4-H pigs.  He loved the outdoors, especially gardening, hunting, and fishing. 

Bill was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Denise Alva [Dommer] Earhart, 83, of Winamac, IN passed away at 7:30 AM Tuesday, August 11, 2020 at Rensselaer Care Center in Rensselaer, IN.  She was born on May 29, 1937 in Gary, IN to the late Walter C. and Kathryn L. [Galbreath] Dommer.   Denise graduated from Winamac High School in 1956.  On November 2, 1957, she married Lestel LaGene Earhart in Winamac.

Denise was a hard worker all of her life.  In her younger years, she was a laborer at the Singer Controls factory in Winamac and the Switches factory in Leiters Ford, IN.  She was a kitchen helper at the Colonial Inn Restaurant and Indiana Head Restaurant, both in Winamac.  Denise also worked as a housekeeper at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac and Porter Memorial Hospital in Valparaiso, IN.  She retired in 2003.

Denise was a volunteer “candy striper” at the hospital and was a member of the auxiliary. She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Winamac.

Denise enjoyed exercising, reading, and watching Golden Girls.  She was an avid bowler and participated in the local bowling league for many years.  

Denise loved her family very much, especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

James A. Easterday Jr. 84, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 4:30 P.M. Tuesday August 11, 2020 at his residence.

He was born on November 21, 1935 in Miami County, Indiana, the son of James Alfred and Ethel Alice (Hileman) Easteday. He graduated from Macy High School. On October 9, 1954 in Mexico, Indiana, he married Nila N. Lockwood. She preceded him in death on May 25, 2019.

Mr. Easterday had been employed by East End Fuel & Garage in Peru, Indiana as gas delivery person and later worked for the Farm Bureau CO-OP in Macy. He eventually accepted a job on the Nickle Plate Railroad, later working for Norfolk-Western, soon to be renamed the Norfolk-Southern Railroad from where he retired. He stepped off the last Indiana High Rail. He was a member of the Macy Volunteer Fire Department, Moose Lodge, loved being a member of the Modified Garden Tractors, Northern Indiana Puller and Indiana Garden Tractor Associations. He enjoyed following, baseball, basketball, coaching little league, running go-karts, golf, using his CB radio and bowling.

Survivors include his children, Diana (Gary) Raber, Macy, Indiana, Donna (David) Emery, Macy, Indiana, Robert (Annie Beechy) Easterday, Rochester, Indiana, grandchildren, Brian Raber, Terre Haute, Indiana, Haley (Jaisien) Hilliard, Indianapolis, Indiana, Logan Smith, Middlebury, Indiana, Nathanial Yoder, Middlebury, great grandchildren, Benjamin, Natalie, Elijah and Gabrielle Hilliard, all of Indianapolis, Indiana, sister, Norma Collins, Rochester, Indiana, brothers, Homer Easterday, Akron, Indiana, Mike (Bonnie) Easterday, Lafayette, Indiana, sister-in-law, Ella Lockwood, Rochester, Indiana, several nieces and nephews. Mr. Keith Warner, 91, of Rochester passed away at 11:25 AM on Monday, August 10, 2020 at Hickory Creek of Winamac. 

On March 18, 1929, Herbert Keith Warner was born in Argos to Herbert and Marie Trembel Warner. Growing up he shared his childhood with a sister Lura. Keith graduated in 1947 from Richland Center High School, where he played guard for the Wildcats basketball team.

On June 10, 1950, at the Richland Center United Methodist Church, Keith married his high school sweetheart, Barbara Ann Shoemaker. Together they enjoyed over 65 years of life's adventures. Their union produced two daughters Kathleen and Angela and a son Jeff. Over the years the family tree grew with the added blessings of six grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren. 

With a strong work ethic Keith was a dairy farmer, overseeing a fine herd of 65 Holsteins.  In addition, he annually planted corn and soy beans.  For about 25 years he drove a school bus route for Rochester Community Schools.  Keith introduced his family to camping initially in a truck/camper that later evolved to the family taking the motor home.  Many memories were made on summer fishing trips to Wisconsin, Michigan and  Mississinewa.  Their family also made memorable trips to Brown County and Potato Creek State Parks.  Keith and Barbara wintered in Florida for many years.

An avid sportsman, Keith enjoyed playing golf at many area courses.  He loved water skiing and was very proud to have skied, getting up on his first attempt, at the young age of 70 years! Tennis is a sport he played with his family and special friends.  Keith and Barbara were accomplished dancers enjoy many evenings out on the dance floor.

Paramount in Keith's life was his family.  As a Grandpa, he was very proud to oversee five generations.  The holidays and special family celebrations were times when many memories were made.  Proud of his grandchildren he and Barbara were always at ball games,  concerts and all school activities. 

 Left to cherish Keith’s memory are two daughters Kathleen Cunningham, Angela McClellan and husband Kevin; a son, Jeff Warner and wife Jo Ann; six grandchildren: Ryan Cunningham, Monica Huffman and husband Travis, Tyler McClellan and wife Sarah and Erica McClellan, Ashley DuBois and husband T.J. all of Rochester, a grandson Adam Warner and wife Sasha of Ft. Wayne; nine great-grandchildren; Camden Cunningham, Aaron Huffman, Ethan Huffman, Warner DuBois and Wilsyn DuBois, Amelia Warner, Oliver Warner, Kyle McClellan, Oliver McClellan; two great-great-grandchildren: Alexis Cunningham, Addison Cunningham; a sister-in-law Claudette Canzian and husband Bruno of Greenfield; a brother-in-law Don Shoemaker and wife Bonnie of Elwood and several nieces and nephews. 

Preceding Keith in death are his parents Herbert and Marie Warner, beloved wife Barbara August 22, 2015,  son-in-law Joe Cunningham in January 2, 1990, sister Lura Morgan in April 26, 1999 and his devoted canine companion, Cody, a golden retriever April 2020. 

A celebration of the life of Keith Warner will take place at the Richland Center IOOF Cemetery at 2:00 PM, Friday, August 14, 2020. Pastor Mike VanHeyningen will officiate services. Mr. Lester D. Scaife, 49 of Chicago passed away on March 16, 2020 in his home.

On January 20, 1971, Lester Darnell Scaife was born in Chicago.  He was a treasured son of Jerry and Maebelle Howell Scaife.  Growing up he shared his childhood with a brother Jerry.

Lester was especially accomplished in expressing himself through art. Acrylics, pencil or pen and ink on canvas were some of his favorite art tools.  Lester also possessed a fine eye for photography capturing unique perspectives of the subject.

Lester showcased his talents in the arts and by starting a business "Fine Creativity, Inc." a video production company which specialized in creating promotional short films for the creative community particularly in the areas if design and architecture.  Being the CEO of his own company was a dream come true for him.

As an Uncle, Lester loved surrounding himself with his nieces and nephews.  He was very proud of them and their accomplishments in sports and at school.  He was a stellar example of pursuing your dreams despite of obstacles.  Lester’s tenacity was one of his most enduring qualities. The holidays and special family celebrations was where many wonderful memories of a lifetime were made.

Left to cherish Lester's memory is his brother Jerry Scaife and wife Rosalind of Chicago; five nieces and nephews: J. Jamarr, Alexis, Nia, Nori and Michael Scaife.  He is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Phyllis A. "Babe" Reutebuch, 85, of Pulaski, IN passed away at 6:58 PM Sunday, August 9, 2020 at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac, IN.  Babe was born on September 17, 1934 in Knox, IN to the late Alfonso and Anna DePirro DeSabatine.   She grew up in Knox and graduated from Knox High School in 1953.  On June 4, 1955, Babe married the late William R. “Bill” Reutebuch in Knox.  He passed away on August 31, 1996.  

Babe and her late husband, Bill, owned and operated Bill and Babes in Pulaski for many years.  She was a co-founder of the Pulaski Christmas Lights.   Babe was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Pulaski. 

Babe loved her family very much, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.   She was one of a kind and will be dearly missed.

Mr. Ted R. McCloughan, 76, of Rochester  passed away unexpectedly at 11:40 PM, August 7, 2020 at Aperion Health Care of Peru.

At Woodlawn Hospital, on September 1, 1943, Ted was born.  He was the treasured son of Benjamin and Zelma Tullis McCloughan.  Growing up as the second of three children he shared his childhood with two sisters Sandy and Sheila.  Ted graduated from Akron High School with the class of 1961, serving his class as president.  He was also the canteen manager.

On August 4, 1962, Ted married the love of his life Lynda S. Hunter at the Silver Creek Church of God.  They shared over 58 years of life's adventures.  From their union came five wonderful children: Kim, Anita, Rod, Brent and Darren.  The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two more generations.

With great passion for agriculture, Ted annually planted beans and corn.  He raised hogs and later added a fine herd of Holsteins.  Ted was an avid reader of western novels.  To relax he enjoyed the outdoors by fishing. 

With the migration of their children to Sarasota, Florida, Ted and Lynda moved south to join them and actively participate as Grandpa and Grandma.  After 17 years of grandkids, the warm sunshine, sand and surf, they returned home to Fulton County.

Gifted with his hands, Ted expressed his creativity with woodworking.  He created a variety of custom furniture pieces for his family to enjoy as heirlooms all made with love and perfection.  Among the most treasured rocking horses and cedar chests.

William Scott “Bill” Walters, 46, of Winamac, IN passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 at his home.  Bill was born on June 21, 1974 at Pulaski Memorial Hospital in Winamac.  He graduated from Winamac High School in 1993.  From 1994-2008, Bill worked at Kewanna Metals.  He had also worked as a farm hand for his great aunt, Dorothy Gilsinger.  Bill had attended St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Winamac.

Bill enjoyed watching movies, reading, and playing chess.  He will be dearly missed.

Alan A. Arms 86, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 5:05 P.M. Saturday August 1, 2020 at Bridgewater Health Care, Carmel, Indiana.

He was born on February 13, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Lyman Scott and Virginia (Aimer) Arms. Al was a United States Navy Veteran. On June 1, 1957 at the Pearl Harbor Naval Base Chapel in Hawaii, he married Mary M. Schemmel. Mary preceded him in death on January 14, 2015.

Al graduated from the University of Michigan and had worked in Muskegon, Michigan and Rockford, Illinois before moving to Rochester, Indiana in 1982 to accept a job with Camcar Textron. After retiring, he worked many years part-time at the Mill Creek Golf Course. He had been a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Elks’ Lodge, Kiwanis and had served on the Fulton County Public Library Board. In his spare time he enjoyed listening to music and playing golf.

Survivors include his daughters, Michele Arms and companion, Jim Hirsch, Rockford, Illinois, Sara and husband Kevin Ramach, Minneapolis, Minnesota, Amy and husband Brian Johnson, Carmel, Indiana, and Anna and husband Mark Lewandowski, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, five grandchildren, William Ramach, Sam Ramach, Kate Ramach, all of Minneapolis, Minnesota, Elaine Johnson, Carmel, Indiana, and Isabelle Lewandowski, Milwaukee, Wisconsin, half -sisters, Barbara (John) Delano, Evanston, Illinois, Nancy S. Arms, Hercules, California, half-brother, David L. Arms, Reno, Nevada, several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Paul G. Arms.

Funeral mass will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday August 11, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Rochester, Indiana, with Rev. Michael McKinney officiating. Friends may call from 4-8 P.M. Monday at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Burial will take place at a later date at Arlington Memorial Park, Rockford, Illinois. In accordance with state executive orders, visitors are requested to wear masks for both visitation and the funeral. Robert M. Hibbs 85, Holiday Florida, and formerly of Rochester, Indiana, passed away on July 10, 2020 in Holiday, Florida.

He was born on July 29, 1934 in Chicago, Illinois the son of Morris and Florence (Alber) Hibbs. He married Penni Bryant on May 2, 1987 and she survives.

Mr. Hibbs had worked at Rochester Metal Products for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Penni Hibbs, Holiday, Florida, two daughters from his previous marriage to Betty Mehrley, Debra (Robert) Croussore, Rochester, Indiana, Peggy (Timmy) Bailey, Tippecanoe, Indiana, two grandchildren, Levi Jones and companion Shannon, Logansport, Indiana, Gina (Nathan) Tucker, Rochester, Indiana, three great grandchildren, three step-sons, Chad (Misty) Swango, Holiday, Florida, Andrew Swango, Rochester, Indiana, Jeremy (Kellie) Swango, Rochester, Indiana, eight step-grandchildren, four step great grandchildren.

Mary Margaret Neff 77, Rochester, Indiana, passed away at 8:55 A.M. Tuesday July 28, 2020 at her residence.

She was born April 4, 1943 in Rochester, Indiana, the daughter of Maurice L. and Margaret L. (Wilson) Sadowsky.  After graduating from Rochester High School in 1961, she attended Butler University, where she was a member of the Phi Beta Phi Sorority, graduating from there with a Bachelor’s degree. She started her professional teaching career at schools in New York City and Chicago, Illinois. 

Mary Margaret married Roger A. Neff on July 24, 1974 in Rochester, Indiana and he survives. She obtained her Master Degree from Ball State University and taught at Caston High School from 1989-2006. While at Caston, she taught English, speech, theater and had been Yearbook sponsor. In January of 1999, she was awarded Teacher of the Month and in 2000 recognized as an Academic Award Recipient. She was highly respected as an educator and known for the many “Petie” Stories. After retiring from education, she continued helping on the family farm with her husband Roger and daughter, Kathy. She enjoyed wintering in the Florida Keys where she enjoyed sailing, boating, and diving, having been certified as a wreck and rescue diver. She attended First Christian Church and was a member of Tri-Kappa.

Survivors include her husband, Roger Neff, Rochester, Indiana, their daughter, Kathy Neff (Orv Huffman), Rochester, Indiana, children, Michael Neff and his sons, Christopher and Thomas, Rochester, Indiana, Rev. Dr. Lori (Rev. Dr. Cleo) LaRue, Pennington, New Jersey, brother, Wilson (Ann) Sadowsky, Belvidere, Illinois, sisters-in-law, Doris (Jim) Clemons, Rochester, Indiana, Phyllis Davidson, North Manchester, Indiana, brother-in-law, Gerald (Irene) Neff, South Bend, Indiana, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Maurice Sadowsky Jr.

Friends may visit from 4-8 P.M. Thursday Aug. 6, 2020 at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester, Indiana. Private funeral services will be conducted at Zimmerman Bros. Infant Genesis Rayne Whiteman, 5 months, of Winamac, IN passed away unexpectedly in her sleep on Sunday August 2, 2020.   She was born on February 28, 2020 in Winamac to Zachary Dale Whiteman and Taleasha Ann Davis.  Genesis was a happy baby and she loved meeting new people.   She was dearly loved by her entire family and they will always cherish her memory.  Although her time on Earth was brief, our love for Genesis will continue on forever.
