Kevin K. "Corky" Jones, 68, of Rochester

Mr. Kevin K. "Corky" Jones, 68, of Rochester, was surrounded by his loving family when he passed away peacefully on January 12, 2024.  This followed a valiant 6-year battle with cancer.

On January 26, 1955, Kevin Korby Jones was born.  He was a treasured son of Francis and Marilyn Taylor Jones.  Growing up he shared his childhood with a brother Chuck and two sisters, Christine and Candace.  During his high school years at Rochester, he was a defensive linebacker and kicker for the Zebras football team. Corky graduated from RHS with the class of 1973.  He was also a member of the Rochester Cement Products Men's Softball Team, a team of dynamic force who dominated the area men's softball league.

After a courtship that was initiated in 2003, Corky married Connie Ringle on October 13, 2011.  They have shared over 20 years of life's adventures.

With a strong work ethic, Corky worked for Walmart as their flooring maintenance chief  for two decades from 1989 - 2009. An American Sportsman, Corky hunted in his earlier days.  With a great passion for fishing, Corky deployed his ambitions anywhere there was water.  Most commonly he was found on the lakes of Fulton and Kosciusko Counties fishing for the limit of blue gill, crappie and bass.  Oh yes, and when the ice began to cover the lake there was nothing better than dropping his line to hook some ice-cold fish.  Corky also fished for tuna off the coast of Delaware, and other saltwater delicacies from the Gulf of Mexico when deep sea fishing.  He also enjoyed getting together with family and friends to play some spirited rounds of poker.

A huge milestone, for a man of strong faith and great determination was his accomplishment of sobriety for 33-years.  He lamented more than once that nothing would taste better than an ice-cold beer, but with strong will never yielded to temptation.

Left to cherish Corky's memory are his wife Connie at home; son Casey Porter Jones of Rochester; grandson Kevin Bryan Jones; two sisters: Christine Hooker and Candice Jones both of Rochester; his step-daughters Jennifer Ringle of Rochester and Joanna Conrad of Logansport; nieces and nephews; and his canine companion Harley, the black Poodle.

A celebration of the life of Mr. Kevin "Corky" Jones will be at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, January 17, 2024, in the Good Family Funeral Home, 1200 West 18th Street, Rochester.  Pastor Kathy Nelson and Pastor Mandy Nellans will officiate.

His family will receive friends on Tuesday from 5:00 - 7:00 PM and Wednesday an hour prior to his service.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be made to The Fulton County Cancer Fund thru the Northern Indiana Community Foundation, 217 East 9th Street, Rochester, IN  46975.

William "Billy" Ryan Witte, 44, of Chicago

William “Billy” Ryan Witte, 44, of Chicago, IL, passed away on Friday, December 29, 2023 peacefully in his sleep at his home.

Billy was born on June 5, 1979 in Grand Rapids, MI to William Joseph and Roslynne Mattano Witte.  In February of 2020, he married the love of his life, Alexa Mather, in a ceremony on the beach in Mexico.  Billy and Alexa created a beautiful home and life together in Chicago alongside their fur babies, Lucy and Walter.  They traveled frequently to their favorite vacation spot - Maui, Hawaii.

Soon after returning home from their wedding, Billy started to feel symptoms.  He saw countless doctors all the while searching for an answer.  In May of 2021, he was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease).  Billy took the diagnosis hard, but he was surrounded by an army of clients, trainers, friends, and family that supported him throughout his journey.  Alexa continued to be the rock in Billy’s life as his biggest advocate and remained by his side until the end.

Nearly 20 years ago, Billy started his career as a personal trainer in Chicago.  Billy's passion for health and fitness as well as his own transformation, gave him the urge to help anyone that wanted to be helped.  His compassionate and caring nature allowed people to connect with him on a personal level while achieving their health goals.  As a result, Billy not only helped hundreds of clients - he formed many cherished friendships over the years.

Billy fought a long and courageous battle.  He will be remembered for living a healthy lifestyle, having a positive impact on his clients, and his outgoing nature as well as the wonderful life he created with his wife and spending time with friends and family.  He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him, especially his parents, wife, and older brother.

Graveside services will be held at 12 Noon EST Thursday, January 4, at Resurrection Cemetery in Wyoming, MI with Rev. Mark Peacock officiating.

Burial will take place at Resurrection Cemetery in Wyoming, MI.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Billy’s wife, Alexa Mather-Witte.  It would also be a fitting tribute if you chose to make a contribution to an ALS organization such as I Am ALS, ALS United Greater Chicago, or Team Gleason Foundation.

Online tributes may be offered at www.frainmortuary.com.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Frain Mortuary in Winamac.
